Might As Well Face It, You're Addicted To Pumpkin Pie Spice
(CBS) -- Have you noticed something unusual this October – something pumpkin-y, spicy and absolutely everywhere?
The country really has gone pumpkin-pie spice crazy. CBS 2's Brad Edwards reports.
'Tis especially the season for the seasoning at Jackalope Coffee and Tea House in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood. A barista there says people ask for all sorts of variations in pumpkin-spice flavorings.
At the Spice House in Evanston, people also seek that hint of the autumnal. Pumpkin pie spice, the spice of the month, was wiped out on Friday. (Note: The spice is actually a blend of ingredients, including allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon, that come from across the globe)
Dan Haracz has his own specialty: roast pork shoulder that has been rubbed in pumpkin spice.
"I'll roast it low and slow all day. You wouldn't believe how good your kitchen smells," he says.
