Men Dressed As Women Steal Handbags From Lincoln Park Store

(CBS) -- Men dressed as women were caught on video stealing thousands in high-end merchandise Wednesday afternoon.

It happened Wednesday afternoon at eDrop-Off near Halsted and Dickens.

A store employee says she buzzed in one person, but then two more entered through the open door and all three grabbed designer handbags worth $6,000.

Two of the suspects were dressed as women.

The owner ran after them, but they got away.

"There is a problem right now in Lincoln Park and I feel like there is a misperception of 'Oh, it's Lincoln Park, they're ok, "Oh, it's the Gold Coast, it's ok' and it's not," said owner Corri McFadden. "How are we supposed to grow as a community and as a business and how are new retailers supposed to come in if this is what's going on."

They took are include four handbags by designers such as Givenchy and Louis Vuitton.

Police say they are searching for suspects.
