Megabus That Departed From Chicago Crashes In Indiana; Several Injured

SEYMOUR, Ind. (STMW) -- Weather conditions may have played a role in a Saturday morning crash involving a Megabus that departed from Chicago and crashed in Seymour, Indiana, which is about 250 miles southwest of Chicago.

The crash happened about 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 65, said Sean Hughes, of Megabus.

"Megabus can confirm that one of our vehicles traveling from Chicago to Atlanta was involved in an incident on the I-65 near Seymour, Indiana," Hughes said.

The Megabus was traveling south on I-65 when it slid off the road into the media and fell over on the driver's side, Indiana State Police said. About 70 passengers and two drivers were on the bus.

Several passengers were injured and some were taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, police said. One person was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Police said weather likely played a role in the crash.
