McDonald's Manager Posts Viral Photo Of Cleaned Up Deep-Fryer

(CBS) -- If you have ever wondered how grimy those deep-fryers at fast-food restaurants can get, you now have your answer.

A person who claims to be a maintenance manager at a McDonald's was transferred to a new location in Australia, and one of the first things he did was clean the deep fryer with a good dose of de-greaser and boiling water.

He posted the image online and it became the top post on Reddit on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the postings on Reddit, the worker cleaned half of the fryer at a time because the restaurant is open 24 hours and it couldn't afford not being without the ability to cook fries and McNuggets.

It took about three hours to clean the portion shown in the photograph.
