Mayday Briefly Called For Fire On South Side
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Firefighters battling a blaze on the South Side briefly feared for the safety of one of their members, who had fallen into the basement of the structure on Wednesday.
That prompted a large "mayday" ambulance response to the scene at about 5:40 p.m., but it was quickly determined that all firefighters were OK.
The firefighter had fallen though a stairway but was not injured.
Update. Mayday secure. Firefighter fell thru stairway. He is OK. No transport. All members are GOOD. LANGFORD
