Five Dead In Maryland Newsroom Shooting
ANNAPOLIS, MD (CBS) — Police are investigating an active shooter situation in an Annapolis newsroom, where at least five people are dead. One person has been taken into custody.
Officers responded to the 800 block of Bestgate Rd. in Annapolis, which is where The Capital Gazette newspaper offices are located.
Reporter Phil Davis was in the newsroom and sent updates via Twitter.
There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you're under your desk and then hear the gunman reload

At a news conference, authorities said law enforcement was on the scene within 60 seconds of the initial 911 call and a suspect was taken into custody. Authorities said the shooter was armed "with a long gun" but could not provide more specifics on the weapon.
Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees. Can't say much more and don't want to declare anyone dead, but it's bad.

The editor of the newspaper posted on Twitter a few hours after the attack.
Devastated & heartbroken. Numb. Please stop asking for information/interviews. I'm in no position to speak, just know @capgaznews reporters & editors give all they have every day. There are no 40 hour weeks, no big paydays - just a passion for telling stories from our communty.
