Marquette Student Shot During Robbery In Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A Marquette University student was shot in the hand and two others were robbed near the downtown Milwaukee campus.

Authorities say the robberies happened outside a parking structure about 2:30 a.m. Friday. The first two students handed over their valuables to a robber.

A second man tried to rob a third student who struggled with the suspect and was shot. Police arrived and arrested the suspect. The other robber is still at large.

Marquette officials sent text alerts to students shortly after learning about the robberies. The university says classes will be held as scheduled Friday.
