Man's Arm Severed In Bridgeport Work Accident

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A worker lost his arm in a workplace accident Monday morning in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side.

The 40-year-old man suffered an accidental injury that severed his arm about 11:20 a.m. at a factory in the 400 block of West 26th Street, police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

Details about the circumstances of the accident were not immediately available.
