CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police are investigating a shooting in Wrigleyville early Sunday morning that involved some officers and left one person wounded.

Police say it was a little after 3 a.m. when officers in the area of Patterson and Racine saw two groups shooting at each other. Police say officers fired shots but did not hit two males running toward them who then dropped their weapons and ran off.

Neighbors reported hearing between 20 to 30 gunshots, some describing the sounds as like a series of fireworks.
