Man Wounded In Heart Of Chicago Neighborhood Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot early Saturday in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 1600 block of West 21st Place about 3:45 a.m. found a man thought to be in his 30s who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said, citing preliminary information.

The man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in serious condition, Greer said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
