Man Wounded In East Garfield Park Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot and seriously wounded early Wednesday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 12:53 a.m., the 23-year-old was in the 500 block of North Kedzie when a vehicle approached and the man got into an argument with a passenger, who then pulled out a handgun and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.

Police said one person has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting and a weapon was recovered. Charges were pending early Wednesday.
