Man With Dementia Missing From South Shore

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 72-year-old man who suffers from dementia has been missing from the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side since Wednesday afternoon.

Sylvester Franklin was last seen about noon Wednesday in the 7900 block of Stony Island Avenue, after he walked away from his brother while at a White Castle, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

He likes to sit in laundromats and McDonalds, according to the alert.

Franklin is described as a 5-foot-9, 180-pound black man with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion with a black and grey mustache. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, a white-buttoned shirt, beige pants and black shoes with no laces, police said.
