Man With Cerebral Palsy Missing From Belmont Cragin

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man with a "diminished mental capacity" who also suffers from cerebral palsy has been reported missing from the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Santiago Alvarez, 27, was last seen Tuesday leaving his home in the 6400 block of West Barry, according to a missing person alert issued by Area North detectives.

Alvarez — who has a "diminished mental capacity" — is a Hispanic man who has cerebral palsy and also walks with a limp, police said. He stands 5-foot-2, weighs 125 pounds and has brown hair, blue eyes and a light complexion.

He was last seen wearing a red coat, a green and black striped long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and gym shoes, police said.
