Man Tries To Rob Garfield Ridge Bank

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man tried to rob a bank Monday morning in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The non-takeover attempted robbery happened at the TCF Bank branch at 6107 S. Archer at 11:47 a.m., according to the FBI.

The suspect was described as black man in his 30s, about 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds, according to the FBI. He was wearing a red Blackhawks hooded sweatshirt with black sleeves, work gloves, safety glasses, a black knit hat, jeans and had a Motorola radio on his left shoulder.

He did not show a weapon.
