Man Traveling To Chicago Arrested With Gun At Baltimore Airport

(CBS) -- A man traveling to Chicago was arrested after he tried to bring a loaded gun through security at Baltimore's international airport on Sunday.

TSA officials say the man was carrying a .45 caliber handgun loaded with nine bullets, including one in the chamber, CBS Baltimore reports.

The man was arrested on state weapons charges.

He was originally ticketed to fly to Chicago.

Travelers who bring firearms to the checkpoint are subject to possible criminal charges from law enforcement and civil penalties from TSA of up to $11,000.
