Man Shot While Driving In Pilsen

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot while driving early Thursday in the Pilsen neighborhood on the South Side.

The 32-year-old man was in a vehicle stopped at a red light about 2:45 a.m. in the 1600 block of West Cermak Road, when a grey vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside flashed gang slogans and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The man was shot in the arm, and he drove away before he called police, Gree said.

He was later taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in "stable" condition, Greer said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
