Man Shot To Death In Auburn Gresham

(STMW) -- A 42-year-old man was shot to death Saturday afternoon in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

About 4:15 p.m., Milon L. Carvis was standing on the sidewalk with several other adults in the 7800 block of South Seeley when a male walked up and fired shots, police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said. The shooter then ran away eastbound.

Carvis was shot in the torso and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 5:07 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 8400 block of South Hoyne Avenue, according to the medical examiner's office.
