Man Shot On Lakefront Trail Suffered Self-Inflicted Wound, Police Say

CHICAGO (CBS) - Police have determined a man who was shot Monday evening on the Lakefront Trail suffered a self-inflicted wound.

Chicago police originally reported the 28-year-old man told officers he was sitting on the Lakefront Trail near Chicago Avenue and Lake Shore Drive around 7:15 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

Tuesday afternoon, police said it was determined the man's wound was self-inflicted.
