Man Shot In Woodlawn

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot in the chest Monday afternoon in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

The man, 30, was sitting in a vehicle about 5:50 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Ingleside Avenue when a male approached and fired shots at him, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

He was shot in the lower chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had been stabilized, Gaines said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
