Man Shot In Lincoln Square

(STMW) -- A man was shot in the North Side Lincoln Square neighborhood Thursday evening.

The man, 22, was in the 5200 block of North Rockwell Street about 6 p.m. when two male suspects approached him on the street, police News Affairs Officer Ana Pacheco said.

One of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired shots, striking the man in the leg, Pacheco said. He was taken in "stable" condition to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston.

Authorities think the shooting may be gang-related, police said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
