Man Shot In Elgin

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 55-year-old man was shot Thursday night in northwest Suburban Elgin.

At 8:30 p.m., the man was walking in the 300 block of Dupage Street in Elgin when someone confronted him, hit him in the head with a gun and then shot him in the arm, Elgin police said.

The man was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Detectives from the Elgin Police Department's Major Investigations Division are investigation the shooting. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Major Investigations Division at (847) 289-2600.
