Man Shot In Austin

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot as he sat in a vehicle in the Austin neighborhood Tuesday night.

The 26-year-old was seated in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle in the 300 block of South Laramie about 9:25 p.m. when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

He drove himself to the 5200 block of West Congress, where he was picked up by a Chicago Fire Department ambulance and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

He was shot in the right side and right thigh. His condition had stabilized, police said.
