Man Shot In Ashburn

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was wounded in a shooting early Wednesday in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The man, 22, was in an alley in the 8000 block of South California Avenue about 1:25 a.m. when a white sedan pulled into the alley and someone inside fired at him, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The man was shot in the left thigh and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in "stable" condition, Alfaro said.

The shooting appeared to be gang-related, Alfaro said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
