Man Shot During Struggle With Robbers In Skokie

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 54-year-old man was shot during an armed robbery late Wednesday night in Skokie.

Police said the man picked up a relative from her workplace at Dempster Street and Bronx Avenue around 10 p.m., and traveled to the 4300 block of Oakton Street, where two young men wearing hoodies approached them and announced a robbery.

The man struggled with the two robbers and was shot in the legs.

The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Skokie Police were asking for any witnesses to come forward.
