Man Shot, Critically Wounded In Pilsen

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was critically wounded in a Pilsen neighborhood shooting Monday night on the Lower West Side.

The man, 18, suffered gunshot wounds to the left arm and abdomen about 8:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of South Hoyne Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

He was seated in a parked vehicle when another vehicle pulled up alongside and someone in the front passenger seat fired shots at the man, Alfaro said.

The man was taken in critical condition to John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Alfaro said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
