Man Shot And Killed In Marquette Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot to death early Wednesday in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side, police said.

The 59-year-old was shot in the head at 4:09 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Washtenaw, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office did not immediately provide information on the fatality.

Area Central detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
