Man Shot, Critically Wounded In East Garfield Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 24-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting in East Garfield Park early Thursday morning.

Chicago police said three men were arguing in the 3600 block of West 5th Avenue around 1:45 a.m., when one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting. The 24-year-old man was shot in the chest, and the other two fled the scene.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

No one was in custody early Thursday. Area North detectives were investigating.
