Man Shot And Killed While Driving On Borman Expressway In Hammond

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot and killed Thursday evening while driving on the Borman Expressway (I-80/94) in Hammond, Ind.

Rescue crews responding to a call of a hit-and-run crash about 7 p.m. found 25-year-old Dominique Wright in a black, older-model Oldsmobile on I-80/94 near Kennedy Avenue, according to Indiana State Police.

Wright, of the 2200 block of Tanglewood Drive in Hammond, was shot multiple times while driving on the expressway near Cline Avenue, authorities said. His vehicle continued westbound, striking another vehicle before coming to a rest on the inside of the interstate.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:40 p.m., according to the Lake County coroner's office. He death was ruled a homicide.
