Man Shot And Killed Inside Apartment Complex Near O'Hare

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 23-year-old man was shot and killed in a possible domestic-related incident early Friday in the O'Hare neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The man was shot several times about 12:45 a.m. following an altercation with another man, 22, inside an apartment complex in the 8500 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue, according to police at the scene.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and the other man was taken into custody, police said. No charges had been filed early Friday.

The apartment complex is one of many that are surrounded by hotels, corporate offices and restaurants.

An officer at the scene said the area is usually very quiet.

"We don't get called up here often," he said. "Nothing happens here."

The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed the death, but did not provide further details early Friday.
