CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 19-year-old man was shot to death in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side late Wednesday, according to police.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 11:45 p.m. found him unresponsive in an alley with gunshot wounds to the side in the 4400 block of North Magnolia Avenue, police said.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he later died, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

Police said the shooting may have been a drive-by attack.
