Man Shot And Killed In Harvey

HARVEY, Ill. (STMW) -- A teenage boy from Gary, Ind., died Sunday after being shot in south suburban Harvey.

Torshon Megoogin, 17, was shot in the 14900 block of South Main Street, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Megoogin, of the 2200 block of Garnett Street in Gary, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he died at 10:49 p.m. Sunday, a representative for the medical examiner's office said.

An autopsy Monday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.

Harvey police could not immediately provide details on the shooting.
