Man Shot And Killed In Englewood

A man was shot to death in the South Side Englewood neighborhood early Tuesday.

The man, 32, was shot in the chest about 1:20 a.m. in the 6700 block of South Parnell Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

Witnesses told police they heard arguing before shots were fired, Gaines said. The shooters then apparently ran away.

The man was dead at the scene, Gaines said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the fatality, but would not release additional information early Tuesday.
