Man Shot And Killed In Altgeld Gardens
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 20-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting late Tuesday in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood on the Far South Side.
Marlin J. Dixon III was walking in the 700 block of East 131st Street at 10:55 p.m. when someone fired shots from a passing dark SUV, police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said. The SUV then drove off northbound.
Dixon, who lived about a block away in the 13000 block of South Evans, was shot in the face and chest and taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where he later died, authorities said.
