Man Seriously Wounded In University Village Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was seriously wounded in a shooting early Wednesday in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side.

The 24-year-old was shot in the lower abdomen or groin about 1 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Taylor Street, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police. The shooting might have been a drive-by attack.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
