Man Seriously Injured While Trying To Drive Car Off Parking Garage Roof

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A car flipped over onto the edge of a North Side parking garage when a 50-year-old man tried to drive off it early Tuesday in Rogers Park, leaving him seriously injured.

About 5 a.m., the Nissan hit a retaining wall on the fourth level of the garage in the 7400 block of North Rogers Avenue when the driver tried to take the vehicle over the edge, police said. The car instead flipped over onto its roof.

The man had to be extricated, and he was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious-to-critical condition, fire officials said.
