Man "Seriously" Injured In North Side Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 63-year-old man was "seriously" injured in a hit-and-run crash in a bank parking lot on the North Side Thursday afternoon.

About 3 p.m., a 63-year-old man was struck by an dark gray "older model" Nissan Rogue that was driving in reverse in a parking lot in the 4800 block of North Western Avenue, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

After hitting the man, the driver reportedly drove from the scene west on Gunnison Street, the statement said.

The SUV had a broken rear license plate light cover and a dent on the driver's side door, the statement said.

The man's condition and hospital information were not immediately available.

The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
