Jogger Pulled From Water In Belmont Harbor

(STMW) -- A woman jogging Sunday morning near Belmont Harbor fell into the frigid waters of Lake Michigan in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on the North Side.

About 10:35 a.m., someone called authorities after watching the 30-year-old woman fall into the water at Belmont Harbor in the 3500 block of North Belmont, Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Frank Velez said.

The woman managed to hang on to land until rescue crews arrived, Velez said. She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where her condition stabilized.

Police said another jogger came to the woman's aid.
