Man Missing After New Year's Party Found Dead In Water

WATERMAN, Ill. (STMW) -- A DeKalb County man's body was found in a waterway Wednesday afternoon, a day after he was last seen at a New Year's party.

Devin G. Blakely, 20, was found dead by friends in a waterway about 2:45 p.m. Thursday in the 10000 block of Duffy Road in Waterman, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's office.

Blakeley, of nearby Shabbona, was last seen about 2 a.m. Wednesday at a New Year's party in the same block where he was later found, police said.

Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in Blakeley's death. The sheriff's office and the DeKalb County Coroner's office are investigating.

Waterman is located about 20 miles west of Aurora.
