Man Killed In Englewood Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was killed in a drive-by shooting Monday evening in Englewood.

Arnold Dearies, 26, was in the 7100 block of South Green Street shortly before 7 p.m. when a white car drove past and someone inside opened fire, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He was shot in the side and twice in his right leg, police said. The car then drove off north on Green.

Dearies, of the 7100 block of South Champlain, was taken to Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:49 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

According to a police source, the man was a documented gang member.
