Man Killed In Chatham Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot and killed Friday night in the the South Side Chatham neighborhood.

Tremaine Scott, 19, was walking with friends about 7:05 p.m. in the 8200 block of South Princeton Avenue when an unknown male approached the group and started fighting with them, police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said. Eventually, the male pulled out a gun and shot Scott in his chest.

Tremaine Scott, of the 9300 block of South Calumet Avenue, was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 8:06 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
