Man Killed In Avondale Crash

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 62-year-old man died Sunday night after he crashed his vehicle in the Avondale neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

About 8:25 p.m., the man was driving west in the 2400 block of West Diversey when his vehicle struck several parked cars before coming to a stop, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:22 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. His name was not released pending notification of his family.

Police said the man may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash. The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
