Man Fatally Shot In Vehicle In Austin
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was fatally shot Wednesday morning in the West Side Austin neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.
The 34-year-old man was sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle in the 4700 block of West Flournoy about 9:20 a.m. when someone walked up and fired several shots into his vehicle, police said.
The victim was shot in the abdomen and arm, and tried to drive away from the scene, but crashed down the block, police said.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
