Man Killed By Brown Line Train In Albany Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was struck and killed by a CTA Brown Line train Monday night in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.

The 21-year-old man was struck by the train about 9:45 p.m. at the Kedzie station in the 4600 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to Chicago Police and CTA spokesman Jeff Tolman.

The man was unresponsive at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

The CTA temporarily halted all train service between the Kimball and Western Brown Line stations, but normal service had resumed by 2:53 a.m., according to the transit agency. Shuttle buses were available for riders while crews investigated.
