Man Killed By Blue Line Train In West Town

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was fatally struck by a Blue Line train Wednesday morning in the West Town, police said.

Officers responded to a call of a person down on the tracks between the Chicago and Division platforms at 10:23 a.m., police said.

They found the body of a man who appears to be in his 20s, police said. He was dead at the scene.

Police said based on preliminary information, the death appears to be a suicide. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not be reached to confirm the fatality.

As of 11:40 a.m., all trains were on the move again, and operating normally, according to a CTA spokeswoman.
