Man Killed, Another Wounded In Englewood Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting early Wednesday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood, police said.

The men, ages, 34 and 59, were getting into a van about 2:30 a.m. in the 5700 block of South Morgan Street when someone in another vehicle shot at them, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

The 59-year-old was shot multiple times and was dead at the scene, Gaines said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the death.

The 34-year-old was shot in the shoulder and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, Gaines said.
