Man Killed After Hit-And-Run On West Side

(STMW) --A man died in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday on the West Side.

Jonathan Alexander, 50, was crossing the street about 12:45 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Congress, when he was struck by a light-colored vehicle traveling westbound, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Alexander, of the 1600 block of West Le Moyne, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:19 a.m., the medical examiner's office said. An autopsy performed Saturday found Alexander died of blunt trauma to the head and his death was ruled an accident.

No one is in custody and the police Major Accidents Investigations Unit is investigating.
