Man Found Shot Dead In Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was found shot dead Wednesday afternoon in Englewood on the South Side, police said.

Police officers found the man, thought to be in his 20s, inside a building in the 6900 block of South Racine Avenue about 1:30 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.

The man had a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was dead on the scene, O'Brien said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed they were investigating a death in the area Wednesday afternoon.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
