Man Found Shot Dead In Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was found shot dead Wednesday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired at a building in the 6900 block of South Racine Avenue about 1:30 p.m., police said.

Jonathan Johnson, 21, was found in the hallway with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Johnson, who lived in the building where he was found, was pronounced dead at 1:34 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives conduct a homicide investigation.
