Man Found Dead In Loop Parking Garage

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was found dead in a Loop parking garage Thursday night with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The man, whose age was not immediately known, was found dead inside a car parked in the garage about 10:30 p.m. in the 0-100 block of East Randolph Street, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The man had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and his death appeared to be a suicide, Greer said, citing preliminary information.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the man's death, but could not immediately provide further details Thursday night.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
