Man Found Dead In Joliet Had Been Shot, Run Over By Vehicle

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was found shot and run over by a vehicle Saturday morning in southwest suburban Joliet.

Someone called police and reported a suspicious vehicle left in the 600 block of Kiep Avenue at 6:49 a.m., Joliet Police Deputy Chief Alan Roechner said.

Officers found a yellow Chevrolet Monte Carlo with damage on the front and back ends, Roechner said. Police kept surveillance on the car to see if anyone showed up.

More than an hour later, at 8:04 a.m., someone called 911 and reported a man lying in the alley in the 500 block of North Ottawa, Roechner said.

Michael C. Brock, 24, had been shot one time and run over by a vehicle, according to police and the Will County coroner's office. Brock, of Joliet, was dead at the scene.

Police are searching for the owner of the Monte Carlo, and no one is in custody in connection with Brock's death, Roechner said.
